This writing desk is the offspring of the Fisarmonica table. We were asked to customize our solid wood “Fisarmonica” dining table and transform it into a comfortable desk. As the Fisarmonica table, this desk is characterized by the alternation of various wood species left in their natural color. The surface recalls the shape and the movement of a traditional Spanish fan, where each line is a type of solid wood.
The woods used for the Fisarmonica desk are: solid wengè, italian walnut, elm and oak, but it can be reproduced in a different combination of colors and wood species. To create this optical effect we need to use at least 3 different wood species: dark, lighter and medium.
Pinocchio is a glossy red lacquered drop-down desk with the top front and four drawers made of maple and wenge solid wood. We reinterpreted the ancient secretaire, transforming it into a 50’s flaming toy. We used the ‘Rosso Ferrari’ (Ferrari red color) to create an interesting contrast between textures. The wood has been maintained in its natural shade which fits perfectly with the glossy lacquering and creates an unconventional tactile effect.
This drop-leaf table can be replicated and customized, choosing the wood species, color of the lacquer, as well as the number of drawers and their sizes.
We were asked several times to design integrated furnishing solutions that could enclose both a space for studying and shelves or a bookcase. The wall systems can be functional and practical decoration solutions where you can insert a desk, shelves and some storage cabinets, exploiting the available space without overloading the room.
We have designed different equipped wall systems using all kinds of materials: from resin to reclaimed wood, from iron to solid wood.
We can adapt our projects and designs to the needs of the space and the tastes of the clients pretty easily. Our handmade creative process allows a total customization also for study and office furniture.
If the space isn’t big enough to insert a big desk, a useful solution could be to design it as a suspended desk. In this case we can use a corner of a wall to create a suspended and movable structure where you can put the computer, the screen and the keyboard, and obtain a comfortable corner for working at home.
This special desk consists of two irregular shaped peninsulas, made to measure which allows working comfortably. To build it we used a very raw reclaimed wood, the one used in construction sites, made stable and smooth by our intervention. To give an even more industrial touch we used galvanized hydraulic pipes as support parts and an orange plastic tube to hide and hold tight the cables of the station.
Next to the small desk we created a wooden sideboard of reclaimed wood, whose doors are made of a wooden reclaimed frame and an iron net we colored in blue.
Also here we used galvanized plumbing as sideboard legs.
